Meeting my Colombian host teacher

I met Guillermo on Skype this week. He and I had a great introductory chat about his school, my school, our home cities, family, and of course many things about teaching. I think this is a great match and I'm looking forward to talking with him for the weeks leading up to my visit.

What a grand experience this weekend has been- meeting so many wonderful teachers from across the world! As we ventured from class to class it became readily apparent the specific assignment we would be given would just be a location, not the experience itself. After talking with these guest teachers any country will be an adventure for me to visit.  Then hearing their lessons...what a wonderful way to learn how to teach similar topics using their methods.

The culture poster session was delightful, as most of these teachers dressed in traditional clothing to introduce their countries to us. Listening to their joy in explaining their cultures makes me very energized and ready to join the many teachers who have come before me.
